The International Monetary Fund (IMF) is seeking a dynamic, qualified and experienced Economist for its Office in Albania. The position is subject to the local recruitment rules of the IMF. The salary offered will be competitive and reflect qualification and experience.
Responsibilities include:
• Monitor, assess and report on economic and financial developments in Albania and analyze legislative initiatives.
• Assist the headquarter (HQ) based country team and the regional office in Vienna in the areas of macro-economic, fiscal, financial sector and structural reform analysis by preparing technical notes.
• Liaise with government officials, representatives of the private sector and international organizations in coordination with HQ.
• Closely coordinate with the HQ team and the Regional Resident Representative Office in Vienna and contribute to their research and policy agenda.
Qualifications and Key Competencies:
• At least a Master’s degree in economics and 2 years of relevant professional experience, or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.
• Strong macro expertise, analytical and quantitative skills, policy judgement and interest in policy-related research.
• Excellent interpersonal and diplomatic skills and ability to effectively work in multi-sectoral and multi-cultural teams, as well as the ability to work independently and to take initiative. • Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with private and public sector stakeholders.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, both in English and Albanian, as well as the ability to communicate concise and persuasive economic analysis and policy advice. • Strong understanding of the economy of Albania.
• Ability to produce high quality work under pressure.
• Excellent knowledge of Excel and Power Point.
