UN is supporting INSTAT in reviewing data on the impact of Covid-19 pandemic in the country.

COVID-19 has highlighted the importance of statistics and reliable data. The numbers of new cases, deaths, infection and vaccination rates are reported by governments and media outlets daily around the world and form an essential tool for supporting decision-making and providing public accountability. As part of the UN Development Account project managed by UNECE, in collaboration with the RCO, two consultants have been supporting INSTAT over the past 3 months in reviewing data on the impact of Covid-19 pandemic in the country. The review analyzed Covid-19 dynamics as well as its impact on various economic, trade and social indicators. It also carried out a regional comparison, indicating how Albania has fared compared to its neighboring Western Balkans countries.
