World Antimicrobial Resistance Awareness Week (WAAW) 2024

Today, WHO Albania, in partnership with the Ministry of Health, held a meeting for World Antimicrobial Resistance Awareness Week (WAAW). The meeting brought together representatives from the Ministry of Health, Agriculture, and Environment to discuss the growing global threat of Antimicrobial Resistance (AMR).

With this year’s theme "Educate. Advocate. Act Now.", the discussions emphasized the importance of the "One Health" approach to combat AMR. Immediate action is needed to preserve the effectiveness of antibiotics and ensure the safety of public health for future generations.
