WHO: Expert Session on Strengthening Public Health Emergency Operations Centers

WHO, with the support of the EU and CDC, brought together today professionals from the region to improve the functionality of Public Health Emergency Operations Centers (PHEOC). These centers play an irreplaceable role in coordinating the response to health emergencies, ensuring that resources and efforts are synchronized to minimize the impact on the population. 37 participants from 11 Balkan and Pacific countries engaged in a series of sessions divided into two phases, through online webinars and an intensive 3-day simulation in Istanbul. This activity strengthens the region's capacities to respond in a coordinated manner to emergency health challenges.
